A tangible community for people in a virtual world
Games & Recreational
We provide housing, incredibly fast internet, and a gaming center for people who are passionate about playing video games. It will be four houses (~300 people per house). In addition to these services, we will are likely to provide a cafeteria, a fitness center and host weekly tournaments between the houses for house-wide rewards. The target audience is US and international 18-25-year-olds who design their lives around video games. In addition to playing >35 hours a week, they are also watching people play video games on Twitch.tv. Many of our customers will be making a living playing video games. We are gender neutral.
The name is broken into three parts that represent our core brand: Virtual (video games), IRL (physical presence), and Lan (community - referencing LAN parties) It is crucial to make the letters "I R L" distinct from the other letters. For gamers, IRL is an acronym for In Real Life. Please keep in mind that there will be four distinct houses with their own names and potentially logos. For this logo we want something that could compliment four separate logos. Logo usage: apparel, on video streaming services, physical/digital signage, and marketing materials **UPDATE** Thanks for all of your creative submissions. Please keep in mind that the letters "I R L" in "the virtualan" need to stand out - whether they are different color than the rest of the text and/or have them capitalized (centered with the rest of the text). 1. We need to have the word "the" in the logo "the virtualan" 2. Although the V as part of the graphic is interesting, please keep in mind that it isn't mandatory. We want something that will look sharp on a T-Shirt: images for inspiration:https://www.google.com/search?q=esports&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwiJlPbAwMLRAhVX8GMKHb8VD3cQ_AUICSgC&biw=2147&bih=1104#tbm=isch&q=esports+team 3. A number of folks have asked about capitalizing the letters IRL but keeping them centered within the rest of the text. I've linked a picture that should communicate the idea: http://imgur.com/a/kTtUQ *** Additional resources: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Video_game_culture eSports documentary: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=of1k5AwiNxI Live streamers (our audience): https://www.twitch.tv
