Julie Shematz the co-founder of Beauty From Ashes™ Ministries, is an over-comer of sexual exploitation & escaped trafficking 7 years ago. She's passionately dedicated to reaching & assisting women, men and children involved and/or associated with the sex industry; commercialized sexual exploitation, trafficking and adult entertainment.
Working with victims of sexual exploitation offering them hope, Beauty From Ashes™ assists with practical needs by providing them and their families with support, inner healing, medical needs, life skill development, assistance with education, job placement, relocation, short term and/or residential housing, art therapy, mentors, as well as Christian discipleship and addiction rehabilitation.
Working within the community, partnering with other anti-trafficking grass roots organizations and with local and national law enforcement, Beauty From Ashes™, is providing awareness and prevention, intervention, liberation, restoration and empowerment to the victims.
Our latest project is to develop Freedom Homes™ for residential restoration of victims. The first model home will be the Freedom Children's Homes™ & will be exclusively for domestic minors of sex trafficking. Eventually, we plan on duplicating this model & will also have Freedom Women's Homes™ & Freedom Men's Homes™ across the nation & around the world.
In 2002, after a commercialized sexual exploitation & trafficking victim became aware of the need for specialized homes, God gave her the vision of the FREEDOM HOMES™, where the victims could go to receive the care they need. Because of the urgent need of domestic minors of sex trafficking, the initial home, the FREEDOM CHILDREN’S HOME™ will be established for minors in South West Florida, followed by homes for adults and models will be reproduced nationally and eventually in nations around the world.
God is passionate about the fatherless, orphans, afflicted & the homeless.
"Vindicate the weak and fatherless;
Do justice to the afflicted and destitute.
Rescue the weak and needy;
Deliver them out of the hand of the wicked." Psalm 82:3-4 NASB
Our mission is to prevent, rescue and restore victims of sex trafficking.
Our purpose is to educate the community, advocate for the victims, implement reach, rescue and restore programs and provide safe homes where they can go to heal emotionally. mentally, physically and spiritually. These are homes where victims will receive comfort, security, safety, love and learn to become over-comers.
