Blue Marble Ventures
Our mission is to invest capital and management resources in promising, very early-stage technologies and business models, primarily within the green/clean technology space. Our objective is to leverage our investments so as to realize venture level returns for us, our investors, and for the other shareholders and managers of each portfolio company.
Blue Marble Ventures focuses on the so-called ‘micro-fund’ level of funding to help inventors and entrepreneurs reach proof of concept stage and prepare for an institutional round of capital or other strategic path. Typically, our initial investments are in the $1k to $25k range.
While we believe that management and execution is key to a successful company, we are primary interested in promising technologies, products and markets. As part of our investment, we often provide hands-on management expertise to help take an idea and/or technology to a commercially viable stage.
We seek high rewards for our capital, but we share the upside with management through unique incentives that reward management for growth and capital appreciation.
While we are primary looking for great business opportunities, we believe in prudent investing, avoiding investments where the level of risk is deemed inappropriate by our standards.
Blue Marble Ventures is targeting Green Tech investors as well as entrepreneurs looking for capital to help their early stage ventures get traction, secure intellectual property or create viable "proof of concept" models for their technologies.
Large corporate sources of funding i.e. Siemens, GE, Honeywell, etc are also a primary target for this business.
