How MedicalManager started their logo design journey

My wife has worked herself to the bone for 8 years. For the last 4 years she has worked every other weekend and is so successful that she sees more patients than the owner. She did this for the promise of partnership.
Long story short, there is no offer, only the opportunity to be taken advantage some more. The stars have aligned and I now have the abilty to help her run her own practice. She is a very popular doc and well liked in the community.
She is a type "a" worker, extremely competant, she cares and will spend extra time with patents that need it. She is also down to earth and does not "put on aires." Many patients call her by her first name. She is a doctor at work and a regular person everywhere else.
I owe it to her to help make this the best run, most successful practice in the area.
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
She is a Family Practice doc and therefore sees all ages from infant to elderly. We want the logo to let everyone know she can help all comers.
An FP is the first point of contact and many times coordinates care among mutilple specitalist for the patient. Many times their job is harder than that of specialists due to the potential of conflicting treatments.
The logo should be simple and to the point. Less is more. It will be on signage, card, web site, etc.
It should have the name as the main focus with some graphics to give it the appearance of professionality / big business (even though we ain't).
I came up with one that has "Lifetime" in a scipt font and "Medical Center" below it as Times Roman. I put a stethescope wrapping around it.
You can go with this motif or come up with something more creative.
A little color could be nice.
At the end of the day I am looking for something that is instantly readable and not distractingly busy or complex.
I would like the winning design in a vector graphic also.
