Medical & Pharmaceutical
Start up medical practice / medspa with one physician and several nurses and other providers who perform non-invasive skin rejuvenation techniques such as Juvederm, Radiesse, Sculptra, Botox etc. as well as medical laser treatments to address various issues with the skin, brown spots, age lines, skin tightening, volume loss, broken blood vessels, skin/scar contouring etc. In addition, the practice provides laser services for tattoo removal, hair removal, skin resurfacing, etc. Mostly, the target audience is female, upscale, 30-60 years old, health conscious, life-style focused (see main characters on TV show Desperate Housewives) seeking next to perfection or 'best you can be' looks. Ultimately, client will also seek a second logo for its adjunct business, The Skin Cancer Center of Silicon Valley. Both practices operate in one large facility and serve northern California geographic area. It would be nice if the 2 logos can look compatible with one another, either through color scheme, or compatible, but not exactly the same typeface/s and or logo. I see the possibility of incorporating a graphical version of what skin looks like under the microscope as part of the logo. You can google images for skin and get some ideas. I'll post a sketch later by the doctor as well as an online image I found. We want the logo depiction of layers of skin to be very simplified, contemporary, yet graphical, and colorful, including undulating basal cell layer, topped by the central stratum malpighii, topped by the horizontal stratum corneum layer where skin flakes off to the surface. I know this sounds daunting and scientific, but we want the depiction to be fun, colorful, not too detailed, but suggestive of growth, layers, emergence and a natural progression, and rejuvenation as all of our skin ultimately flakes away as newly generated skin cells make it to the surface. I could see the layer/logo possibly being part of a line that separates the work Refined, from the words 'cosmetic dermatology. R E F I N E D (skin layer here) Cosmetic Dermatology or possibly using the graphic of the skin layers as a border bleeding off one edge of business cards, letterhead etc. At this time, we are not interested in the logo containing a profile of a female face, no medical logos, no emergency crosses etc. Really interested in keeping the logo easy to print, interested in seeing how it looks reversed on a solid colored background, or a gradient background. Open to designers ideas about any other symbols that support the ideas eluded above. Really looking forward to seeing all your ideas. Most likely, this project will roll into a second logo for The Skin Cancer Center of Silicon Valley as well as a typeface selection or creation for a heading on a joint website which would be "Steven L Swengel MD & Associates See the following websites for docs who provide services similar to ours. http://www.sba-skincare.com/ http://www.drbaileyskincare.com/dermatology-practice-sebastopol-ca.shtml (selected not for logo, but intro to the docs practice http://etnainteractive.com/ (This company has some nicely designed logos, websites etc. many are medical sites. I enjoyed working with Alex to design a logo and brand identity for my law firm. He is a talented designer as well as being communicative and responsive. I particularly appreciated the variety and number of variations he provided so that we could narrow down the final design. I would work with him again!
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
