How Toma Bedolla started their logo design journey
My name is Toma Bedolla, and I recently founded a company that is focused on determining the veracity of content online and the credibility of sources. I'm looking forward to interacting with the creative community to develop a logo that captures the spirit of this effort.
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
Our audience is anyone who uses the Internet for information, news or as their primary source to make informed decisions. The Web 2.0 crowd will likely be our early market, but we're not looking to appeal to any one demographic over another.
Given that our tools leverage the power of crowd-sourcing to determine veracity and credibility, we would like our logo to cleverly represent this fact. We make it possible for people to verify or dispute online content, and in doing so, build a credibility score for themselves in the process. Content can earn a positive or negative veracity score representing a level of conformity with truth (even contextually).
Our first idea has been to create something of a cropped view of a tree trunk and branch, where a green leaf (representing positive veracity) is attached to the branch and a brown leaf (representing negative veracity) is falling. We will most likely be using a tree/forest theme.
Ultimately, something that is simple and clean, easily recognizable (think favicon) would be a home run. Cleverness is always a plus. Original ideas that fit the goals of this description are welcome.
Addition: A yin/yang-esq logo has our attention...a green leaf/brown leaf that mirror each other...or something in that vein. All that said, please keep the original ideas coming!!
