We're really looking forward to the collective creativity of the 99designs.com community, so we're going to keep the restrictions to a minimum.
When you're thinking about how to approach this project, think wedding couture meets baby couture meets boudoir – without being whimsical or too trendy. We are open to design options from minimalist to complex. Classic and timeless are two of the adjectives we often use to describe our work when talking to clients, so if you're thinking about a cartoon-esque motif you should probably reconsider.
We prefer modern, clean fonts but we're open to other types if it’s the right design – just not too fancy or curly.
Please avoid the obvious photography and cinema icons and cliches such as film strips, cameras, etc. And please, no stock or recycled designs.
We have not decided on company colors yet so the palette is yours to define, but keep in mind that that the logo should work equally well in grayscale, and it should work on black or white backgrounds. This logo may be used as a die stamp for album covers and as a small watermark on digital files, so overly intricate designs that may not reproduce well in these contexts should be avoided.
We'd like the artwork in *.ai and unflattened *.psd formats. The winner will receive mention on our blog, too.
Expect feedback from us continuously throughout the contest.
