About Bakery Knowledge
"Bakery Knowledge is a new education service offering on-line courses in Commercial Baking (i.e. Bakery businesses making products not home baking). Primarily the courses are aimed at new entrants into the industry but are also of interest to the bakers in general.
Colour Schemes
Traditional colours for industry sites tend towards brown and creams, but we are keen for new ideas.
The Logo Design
We require a logo which provides a modern take on a very ancient industry. Traditionally wheat or a wheat-sheaf has been associated with baking but this is not essential and may be considered dated.
As the primary use of the logo will be on the web site and for promotional literature, so it will be necessary to use the logo on a white background in addition to a possibly coloured background on the site.
Web Page Design
We require 2 page templates, a landing page and a content page.
Both the Landing and Content Page should provide navigation to the following
Home
About Us
Join Us
Courses
Contact Us
Log In/User Status Block
All links and navigation should follow web 2.0 conventions.
Landing Page
The primary object of the web site is to deliver on-line training courses, these training courses fall into 4 main categories -
Ingredients
Products
Equipment
Technical.
The landing page should give an instant image of the trade and provide prominent connections to the four areas our courses cover.
Some sample photos are available from http://www.bakeryknowledge.com/contest/
The new logo needs to be prominent on the landing page.
Our name Bakery Knowledge does convey the correct message and should be prominently shown.
Content page
This page must be more subtle in that it must not detract the student from the course content. Maximum space will be required as some courses are presented as Flash objects requiring the maximum amount of screen width.
CSS
The provided style sheet should provide styling for the following standard elements in addition to layout centric items.
H1, H2, H3, H4, H5
