I'm an independent interior designer that loves, loves, loves helping people fall in love with their homes! I offer both traditional one-on-one interior design services, as well as virtual design services. Above all else, there are three things that I want to communicate to people through the overall branding look/feel of my logo: Approachable, Fresh and Authentic.
Its really important to me to have the logo communicate a culture of openness and trust that I will help them through whatever decorating challenges they face in a way that makes them feel cared for and safe.
I want to be able to communicate that I am great at helping people find their own "personal style" and to build on that. I don't want anything too trendy or too traditional -- TRANSITIONAL is probably the best description for who I am and why I appeal to people.
My target audience is women ages 30-65 who come from moderately affluent households (they are either a dual income household or they are stay at home moms who are married to men who have strong earning power, but may not have yet maximized it).
Some of my clients may be moms... and perhaps even new moms... but they won't all necessarily be moms. There is definitely a contingent of single, working women out there that my services are perfect for.
They are women who may have friends who have used designers, but they themselves probably have not. They are busy women with lots of irons in the fire (whether with work or family or both), and they simply do not have time to decorate. They want things to be beautiful in their homes, but they don't feel confident with their design abilities, and desperately want someone to come in and tell them what to do.
However -- they do not want homes that look too "decorated". Instead, they want help finding their own personal style -- and then to have someone walk them step-by-step through how to do it.
Mostly I want a logo that is clean, fresh and conveys a very uplifting, positive energy. I don't want anything too trite -- if you are going to incorporate a bird or a nest please do so in a way that looks more stylised or line-drawing-ish.
I don't want anything that looks too formal or fancy -- or on the flip side -- anything that looks too contemporary or harsh. I am envisioning something where the lines are soft and curved (to convey a comforting, welcoming, approachable feel) In terms of color -- nothing too bright -- and nothing too dull. Again, I am trying to find a good middle ground that is inviting and nurturing and approachable -- without being too cute or at all cartoonish.
Absolutely no clipart or stock photos should be used.
I need the logo to be able to be used on all of my branding (website, printed collateral, etc.)
Magazines that convey design looks I like: House Beautiful, Real Simple, Martha Stewart Living
Here are several logos I really like: (the first one is my very favorite)
