Midtown Surgery Center
Midtown Surgery Center is the first physician-owned, freestanding outpatient surgery center in New York.
As the first physician-owned surgery center, we are also the most advanced surgical facility in Manhattan, offering the latest technology in orthopedics, arthroscopy, microsurgery, laparoscopy, plastic surgery, spine surgery, and pain management.
Located only steps from U.N. Headquarters in Manhattan, we are situated in a lovely diplomatic corridor on the East Side. As such, our neighborhood and facility enjoy a sophisticated, educated, upscale and international clientele and tenor.
Our surgeon-owners represent the top 1% of all surgeons in their field. As such, we cater to well-educated, affluent professionals in Manhattan who are looking for the absolute pinnacle in surgical care. In addition, we have a sophisticated international clientele of foreign dignitaries, diplomats, and businessmen who travel to Manhattan from all corners of the globe for the best possible surgical care. Our clients expect the finest in medical care, and they expect and deserve to be pampered in every respect.
Our competitors are the internationallly renowned hospitals and academic centers of excellence, including Columbia Medical Center, Hospital for Special Surgery, NYU, and Mt. Sinai Hospital. Therefore, the successful submission will similarly reflect clean, upscale, and academic. The design will be simple but thoughtful, sophisticated but elegant, progressive but safe.
The successful logo/design concept should be clean and professional and convey these concepts:
1. safety is job one
2. best of class physicians, surgeons, and staff
3. best of class technology
4. very special, personalized medical care
5. sophisticated and academic
Again, the facility is situated in a diplomatic corridor close to the U.N. and shares a building with the Sultanate of Oman, the United Arab Emirates, and Uzbekistan. (The facility had originally been called U.N. Surgery Center, but that name needed approval from the U.N. Secretary General.) Therefore, please consider an international flavor to your design. This is a suggestion, however, and is not a necessity.
The logo and design concept should incorporate and dovetail with the architecture and interior design of Midtown Surgery Center's recently completed facility. The facility is modern and incorporates largely earth tones as well as cherry and mahogany paneling and cabinetry. The frontage is 5/8" glass, and the front door logo might be etched into the glass.
