TMTT needed a new logo design and created a contest on 99designs.
A winner was selected from 116 designs submitted by 29 freelance designers.
Need a simple, professional, and "cool" design that would appeal to executives in the defense industry, soldiers, police officers, etc. Here's an example of logos and design elements I like: http://website.smugmug.com/gallery/…4516/Large
TACTICAL IMAGE (not case sensitive)
Desired Color Scheme:
none, but try to limit to two or three colors...avoid pink, purple, etc...and avoid a combo of red, white, & blue
Desired Style:
SIMPLE (not overly detailed), PROFESSIONAL (many of my clients wear suits & ties, not camo), AMAZING (something only a graphic designer could create), COOL (if the logo was a sticker or military patch, people would want one), & CLEVER.
Accepted File Formats:
Vector Formats (.eps, .pdf or .ai); Layered Formats (.psd or .tiff)
COMPANY INFO: I specialize in all things military and law enforcement-related. My clients are the defense industry, news agencies, and military and police units. Examples of my work might include photos of the newest stealth prototype jet developed by Lockheed, Soldiers patrolling mountains in Afghanistan, SWAT team clearing a house, or “covert operators†in balaclavas with suppressed weapons wading through underground tunnels.
VISUAL ELEMENTS I LIKE: interwoven designs and illusion (think Celtic art or M C Escher), stealth aircraft, light rays, textures that look “worn, gritty, dirty, and battered,†wind flow and vapor, overlapping or three dimensional elements, random cool-looking shapes, topographic maps, celestial objects, stoic men standing ready (think Soviet propaganda poster), the riveted surface of aircraft skins, ancient writing script (think Assyrian or Babylonian), designs that create repition and patterns.
DESIGN ELEMENTS I WANT TO AVOID: camera equipment, guns, bullets, crosshairs, skeletons, and anything too “threatening.â€
WORDS THAT REPRESENT MY COMPANY: action, adventure, professionalism, special forces, service-oriented, military, law enforcement, covert ops, military aircraft/vehicles/ships, roughing it in the wilderness, navigating up mountains, exotic overseas locations, urban, SWAT, technological superiority, timeless.
DESIRED SHAPE OF LOGO: Needs to be flexible so that it can be reproduced in different shapes (for example: website banners, square icons, circular “squadron†coins, embroidered patches, business card, etc.)
LEGAL INFO: The design must be your own intellectual property and you must have the exclusive copyright and right of use. The winning designer agrees to sign contract to transfer all rights, titles, and interests, to the logo to me and cannot restrict the use in anyway. Only the winning designer can use my company name as part of their advertising portfolio.
