How Shock Entertainment started their logo design journey
Shock is Australia's largest independent music and DVD label/distribution company. We're traditionally a B2B business but are about to step up the promotion for our online direct to consumer sales and create a greater online presence.
We have our own designers but feel we need somebody who brings new eyes, a new perspective and a new style to the table.

Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
The current online audience are mainly punk kids as we distribute Epitaph, Fat Wreck Chords, Vagrant and a tonne of other labels in Australia. We need something that will connect with them, without alienating our other markets and media contacts etc who follow us on twitter.
Shock Entertainment has an existing oval logo, that you can see at the top of our website. It's used on all company branding and is well known amongst our market. The problem is, it's more of a traditional brand stamp and the shape and feel of the logo don't really work for social network sites e.g. myspace, facebook, twitter, so we need to freshen it up, give it a bit of a younger feel.
There's only 1 requirement but a couple of requests...
1. The design must incorporate the oval Shock logo. Doesn't have to be big, but it has to be there
2. Should be something the core audience of punk kids will like but won't scare anyone else away
3. It shouldn't look too corporate, a bit alternative but no skulls, flames, wings or shit like that
