PB&J Productions is a new business grounded in a life-long passion for photography. PB&J was founded last year by two recent retirees (an experienced hobby photographer and an educator) who want to see the world and photograph it, while creating lasting images to share (sell) to others. While PB&J started with photographs of old barns across the country, it now includes a great deal of nature scenes (wildlife, flowers), candid shots of people, fine art images, etc.
The name PB&J was chosen for its fun, all-American approach to life. PB&J founders enjoy travel, life, photography. We want the logo to be fun, easily remembered and convey a simple, beautiful life. ("PB&J" is referencing the classic Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwich enjoyed by many - we're using it as a symbol or icon of Americana.)
We are primarily looking for a design for a logo that will be used on business cards, an anchor for the website, letterhead, etc. The target audience is everyday people who come across our images at art shows, local shops, websites, etc. The image should be catchy and easily remembered - pop and attract attention, but not gaudy.
Our images are medium to large format and cost ranges between $250 - $1000.
We want our company, and our logo, to project fun, the spirit of the American people; our photographs are meant to nourish the spirit and the mind. Through photography, we wish to capture and share the inspiration and emotion of everyday American life.
A first thought was a cartoon image of a photographer with an old-time camera taking a picture; with the cartoon character in black and white with a color flash. The photographer might be silly - have big feet or something "fun" (so that it is not the actual image of a person). We would also like the name "PB&J Productions" to be included either as part of the image or as part of the overall logo. Some part of the logo, either the picture, the company name or a mix should include some burst of color.
PB&J's logo should be whimsical and light-hearted, but not "cutesy".
HOWEVER, we are open to other ideas and would love to see what you can visualize. This was just our first thought. We would really love to tap into the creative energy, talent and ideas of the design community.
The logo should use web-safe colors and the image needs to be made available as a raw image file and a jpeg.
