We are a small but mighty rural nonprofit. We provide around 4,000 nights of safety to survivors of domestic violence each year. And safety plans, advocacy, prevention, so much more! We want our logo to look more professional, and reflect our values of offering help when wanted, helping survivors ( mostly, but not all, women) find freedom and a new life, helping them take charge of their own lives. We do want an image of "hands" in the logo. Open hands, preferably facing up in some way. We like the logo of https://www.ilcadv.org/, because of the feeling of "setting free" and hand in the image. We like the PADV https://padv.org/ logo (attached), because it has hands and a woman, but we'd like to see it with the hands facing up and open, to give more of a feeling of freedom. And the hands are too abstract, geometric, and harsh. Our current webpage is https://www.helpinghandsoregon.org/
We want a dark reddish purple in the logo, which is the color of domestic violence awareness. We are open to a little bit of complementary teal, which is the color of sexual assault awareness month ribbons. We gave a couple HEX colors as examples, but we really are flexible. The ICADV logo attached is white on white. Couldn't figure out how to make it show up better, but you can.
We want a square-ish logo that will also work in a horizontal version. We are okay with, but not attached to, using the name and/or initials in the logo, as in the PADV logo attached.
We have a very small budget. This will be the first logo we've spent money on. Please don't use an expensive font.
Additions to the comments: Please no shelter, house, ribbon, or butterfly in the logo.
And please give the words in our name substantially equal emphasis.
