Great design, very responsive. I was able to get portrait & landscape, white and dark background plus black and white versions of my AWESOME logo. I am psyched!
How ymjody started their logo design journey
My name is Jody, and I'm a youth minister at a United Methodist Church in North Carolina. My calling is to help students, in middle and high school, understand God's love and character and discuss how they might respond to it. This is accomplished in several ways but Bible study is a main component. I want to name our youth group "Reach42". The mission statement that explains the name is "We Reach 4 God, We Reach 2 Others". It is VERY important to me that our youth ministry have a logo to "brand" our group to develop a clear identity throughout the church and community. I want it to be CUTTING EDGE to have a appeal to the youth culture of teenagers within our group and their friends that may be interested in the group.
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
My target audience is exclusively youth in grades 7-12 (mostly teenagers). I want the logo to appeal to their culture and have an EDGE to it that will peek their interest and help make it cool to want to be associated with the group. I want to appeal to youth in schools around the church (that don't attend church) and help them see that visiting the group is a cool thing to do. Youth live in a culture where everything is branded and I want them to be able to see the logo, in a variety of media formats, and know immediately that our group is associated with that website, event, etc.
1. IMPORTANT: The logo must be "edgy" and connect and match what would be considered popular in today's youth culture. I want a teenager who has never been to church to see it at school and think it's cool and maybe even help motivate him to check out the group. I want the logo to even be ahead of the curve and appeal not only today but into the future.
2. logo must incorporate the group name of "Reach42" (the 'reach' and '42' may be together or separated within the logo or even have a dash or not, use your creativity! I have no preference to color pallet (again be creative).
3. It would be nice if the logo somehow visually (not with words) incorporated the mission statement of reaching out 4 God (seeking God and His ways first above all else) with the secondary vision of reaching out 2 others (in love helping others in need). It's based on the bible reference where Jesus says the greatest commandment is to love God with all your heart and he said the second greatest commandment is to love your neighbor as yourself. You have much freedom in your creativity here and may or may not include symbols or be more abstract in nature. You're the graphic artist!
