PLEASE: NO more ball-headed generic people designs! Anything other than trees, anyone...?? Thanks. PLEASE READ all of our feedback first on the main design submission display page.
Initially we would like a logo but are in need of complete branding of the foundation so it would be helpful for designers to keep that in mind as we would like to continue the "design conversation" with the winning designer to further the branding. We realize this contest is for a logo.
As for design specifics, we are quite open to various ideas from a purely abstract design to something more literal.
The design should convey a sense of connectivity, of extending outward yet having a strong "foundation" or roots. A tree is a very obvious symbol or even a book for the education aspect but please don't get stuck on that idea.
My parents are both from small towns in southern Minnesota (Jasper and Luverne) and still retain close ties to those communities. I am one of four siblings and we are quite close. We tend to be community oriented and realize that we are blessed in many ways and we enjoy helping others.
Some things to AVOID in the design: any overt religious symbols, cheap looking clip arty stuff, obnoxious pop art colors, too crowded or too much graphic detail like a college crest. NO MORE ball-headed generic people logos!!
