Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
The North Dakota Infant and Child Death Services program (ICDS) serves the residents of North Dakota who have lost a child (up to age 2 years) unexpectedly. This program focuses on infants and children who have died due to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS), Sudden Unexpected Infant Death (SUID) and sleep-related deaths. In addition to offering support to families who have lost a child, ICDS also provides education across the state on the prevention SIDS and sleep-related deaths. ICDS is also a partner site for Cribs for Kids, which provides a safe sleep environment to families who demonstrate a need.
For this project, the designer will design a logo that depicts safe sleep for infants. If a full baby is shown, it MUST be laying on its back in an empty sleep space. This design should be very simple in nature as the desire is to have it printed on crib sheets for use in the hospital setting. Images of a full baby is not required but if used must follow the rules above. Some ideas of phrases that may be used with the image are “I’m cute enough on my own – I should be alone in my crib” and the ABC’s of safe sleep – Alone, Back, Crib. Designers are allowed to include wording of safe sleep messaging or variations of the previous wording if they would like. The use of a phrase is optional to the design.
What industry do you think your business is most related to?

The first image I am attaching is the current logo for the program. This Sleep Safe ND logo may at times be used in conjunction with this logo, so similar or complementary colors would be nice. The other images are examples of other safe sleep logos. It has to be very simple in nature for printing purposes. The design can be multiple colors but has to be able to be done in a single color for the printing on crib sheets.
