How Jeff Cory started their logo design journey
Onyx General Contractors
Our client is a start-up Building Contractor company based on New York City. They are a centralized agency putting together teams from their wide source of subcontractors to handle any building requirement large of small - from offices to homes (biased more toward HOMES) Their strength is in their ability to supply top-notch professionals (masons, plumbers, bricklayers, etc., etc.) and to oversee that their work is timely and exceptional.
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
They are targeting architects, builders, and the like - in an existing and very competitive market - offering them a very special service -- making their target's (client's) work easier and more secure.
We looking for an Icon/Logo incorporating the name ONYX. (The words "General Contractors" does NOT need to be part for the logo - those words are only a subtext that will appear below the logo/icon.)
(If, on the other hand, the designer believes that the entire name can be incorporated into the logo - let's see how that will look)
The Icon/Logo is to be in color - there are NO color restrictions.
IMPORTANT: The Icon/Logo should included some form of "building concept" - preferably a "house" type image. This image does NOT have to be "real" - and can be as broadly interpretted as the designer wishes... from "conceptual art" to more a more real interpretation. The underlying feeling is that this is a trustworthy Building Contractor company which gets the building job done cleanly and efficiently.
NOTE: There are NO font restrictions. ONYX has no logo yet - so the lettering of the name "ONYX" withing the logo is still fully open to suggestion.
