Poppist is a social marketplace for deals. Think of us almost like a Yelp for deals. You can check out mocked-up website on http://www.poppist.com to get a better idea on how better to design the logo.
We feature many local businesses on our website and each business have their own business profile page. Businesses are grouped around categories such as “Food & Drink”, “Active Life”, “Beauty & Spa” etc. Each business can choose to run a deal whenever they want.
There are some differences between Poppist and other daily deal sites. Rather than just one deal a day, we can running any number of deals a day. Instead of focusing on the daily deal aspect, we focus on building the brand of the local business by encouraging users to leave comments on the business profile page, by sharing through social media and liking the deal. We don’t highlight the number of people who have bought the deals and time left to purchase.. We also don’t charge consumers upfront. They download a coupon and pay only when they redeem at the merchant.
Lastly, the name Poppist was chosen because we wanted something that that connotes fresh, new, and exciting. the “Pop” in the name is that of“popular” and “pop culture”. and the “ist” in the name represents someone who makes, do or practises as in “cyclist” or “novelist”. We like our users to think of Poppist as someone who is expert in bringing the best of local shopping to them and all the businesses and deals featured reflect these attributes.
Most of our audience are women and Internet savvy. However, rather than deal-hunters, we look to target users who want to use one single website to see what is cool, fun and happening in their city.
They might like a deal but they have no interest in going to twenty different websites to maximise their savings. Instead, they like to go to one single website which they know will have a suitable curated range of local businesses and services catering to their needs and perhaps an offer or two.
We are looking for a logo that will be used on the web, email, our letterhead, business cards etc. The logo should portray freshness, newness, vibrancy, popularity and excitement.
