James (fatboyjim) did a fantastic job on this project. He was flexible in our many requests and was willing to try a variety of options before we landed on the final design that we love. His response time was good. I would gladly recommend him to others looking for logo or other design help.
How josh sullivan started their logo design journey
We're PV Powered. We're based in Bend, Oregon. We build solar inverters. Lots of them. We also track the data that solar installations produce and we do it on a very large scale.
So, we built a web app that displays the data to reliability engineers, commercial customers (GE, Boeing, Nike) and customer service.
Problem is, we have no logo. That's where you come in.
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
We're going after the commercial solar energy industry. Our customers are large scale commercial solar installations all over the United States.
We need a logo for our web app that looks clean, professional, and bad ass.
Our app is called Headlamp. We came up with the name because it ties in a few different things: Data mining (headlamps are used in mines), Light (light from the sun, light from a single source), and it just sounds cool.
We need a creative logo that doesn't necessarily have to tie in thematic elements like the sun or solar power or mining, but should creatively express the app's name.
The more creative the better. Think outside the box and you'll win our bid and probably future work.
Attached are screenshots of our app. Here's a youtube video of our app, too, to give you an idea of what it looks like in action:
