Emily Flippin Maruna is a creative young mother who has always been a trend setter in her scene. Raising two kids under 5 in Portland, Oregon Emily decided to hand make every gift she had to give last year in an effort to save money and get in better touch with the value of giving. She blogged about her experiment at http://emilyflippinmaruna.wordpress.com/
The blog took off. She is now followed by many of her dream designers and has thousands of people who follow her advice and direction on finding cool ways to outfit their families and themselves.
Now Emily is taking her new talents in sewing and launching a boutique clothing line. Her creative direction is a balance of modern and vintage design with an emphasis on patterns from the 20's/30's in cuts from the 60's/70's. You can see a lot of her work on the blog.
She is now launching a website, starting to goto tradeshows, and generally launching a clothing brand. Before she married her awesome husband, her last name was actually "Flippin" which she kept as a middle name.. The brand "Sew Flippin Cool" seems like a slam-dunk no-brainer.
