Tasty Labs
We're a stealthy new startup founded by three awesome guys, including Joshua Schachter, founder of del.icio.us and the inventor of tags. Tasty Labs plans to launch something that will make a meaningful difference in the lives of ordinary folks.
See this techcrunch article for more on us: http://techcrunch.com/2010/11/02/tasty-labs/
To start, sophisticated internet users- the same folks who use Flickr, Delicious, Twitter, etc. It should be something that is sophisticated, approachable, and elegant. The logo should be something that people would want on a shirt and is recognizable from 20 feet away when 4 inches tall.
The original del.icio.us site embodies many of our values in terms of design:

However, the world has progressed since del.icio.us was built in the early 2000's.
We can think of a couple directions this can go-
Direction 1:
Think bauhaus, not baroque. We're big fans of industrial and midcentury design. The logo should be clean, crisp, and easily recognizable, even without the name. Avoid using glossy effects like on iPhone icons.
Direction 2:
Something appealing and appetizing. Bright colors and playful themes conjure associations with candy and the enjoyment of food.
This will primarily be used on our web site, as well as on our family of consumer websites (i.e. "A Tasty Labs Production") on a webpage footer. This will also be used on t-shirts and business cards, so this logo needs to work in full color and monochrome versions.
Versions of the logo (png is fine for concepts, but should be vector in final version):
Full wordmark + logo
Logo by itself
Favicon
Monochrome version (letterhead, etc)
Large version (around 250px wide)
Tiny version (about 15-20px tall and including wordmark)
