YourPlace.com - "Find and Discover your Place"
This is my 2nd project at 99Designs and I am very impressed with the caliber of designers here. We will be launching this logo as part of this site launch in a few weeks.
YourPlace.com is a friendly, accessible site where people can learn about real estate places from those people who know them best - those who live and work there. It begins with local real estate agents who share ground-level, authentic information about the communities they live and work in and is joined by anyone who lives there and loves to talk real estate and especially about their community.
Before Yourplace, this information about the "brand" of a neighborhood and the "context" around the homes for sale could only be garnered through a tour by a local real estate agent or if you happened to know someone who lived there. Yourplace is the first place online that is bringing this community information online and making accessible to all homebuyers and homeowners.
The primary audience is home buyers. Home buyers typically decide on a neighborhood or list of favorite neighborhoods and then try to find the right home in one of those neighborhoods. Our audience is this home buyer who is trying to discover the community right for his/her lifestyle. Are there kids playing in the street? Do neighbors share cups of coffee on their porches with either? Is it a commuting neighborhood? etc.
This will be a mainstream consumer-facing site so the logo needs to bring across the following feelings:
1. Credibility: This is a credible, stable and trustworthy site.
2. Accessibility: This site will be easy to get around and understandable.
3. Fun: Real estate is fun and this site looks like a fun place to spend some time.
Our site primary colors are can be seen on the attached homepage design that was created by a great 99 Designs designer. This blue-green combination is very nice. However, if you have a vision that includes a different color scheme, I am excited to see it.
TEXT LOGO VS. LOGO WITH IMAGES
I am open to either logos that just consist of a the text yourplace.com or those that add graphics to it.
