I am looking for something with a vintage feel. Something perhaps indicative of the 40's or 50's for trades advertising.
Not looking for obvious tools of the trade incorporated ie. paint brushes, rollers, paint cans.
Our name indicates we have a sense of humor and ideas that have some sense of whimsy are welcome.
Thanks for the entries so far. I have attached our current logo. There are no elements that I want to bring forward but this may give you a better feel for what I have used.
The other two have interesting font choice or style elements that maybe useful.
I do like the idea of emblem and name separate. Often we are seen from a distance and if people can see something they can recognize but not read that is positive.
UPDATE: Seeing some good ideas. But not seeing a separate design element utilizing a symbol or something that could be identified in silhouette or on a one color print. It would be helpful to have two parts to the idea that can used separately.
UPDATE: Some favorites coming up with lots of great enhancements and getting clearer idea what works well. Favorite misspelling so far: Tall Gay Painting. Must be a niche market there. Thanks for all the submissions and keep them coming.
UPDATE:We have guaranteed the award so you can tell how happy we are to see some fantastic ideas coming in.Liking the different color ideas that are being presented. It helps with seeing the name/logo in one color. Which sometimes happens when using this.As we close in on finalists its important that we have two types of thought out elements. One being the total logo that allows for height and width. ie: signs, front of shirtsThe second being a horizontal version that can be used for letterhead, web or areas where we don't have the luxury of conveying the total package. This is one where style can be similar but where it has a cohesive feel to the Logo. Thanks everyone for the great responsiveness and creativity!
