Imagine this logo being scrawled on abandoned buildings. Picture revolutionaries carrying painted banners through the streets. The goal is for this logo to stir up emotion. It doesn't need to be clean and probably shouldn't feel too professional/ digital, looking for a more organic style. But that's just a thought, if you have a better idea I'd love to see it. Just want to go with the coolest one. Do need to limit it to the basic colors though.
I was thinking a very South American style "Viva!" mixed with the Old English/ classic "Detroit" D, but more professional and artistic than the picture I attached. However, I'm looking for something slightly outside the box, different, alternative. Maybe it looks hand drawn or like it was painted on a banner. The word often has a negative connotation, but I am looking for something a bit more "hipster".
Imagine the front of a t-shirt says nothing except "Viva! Detroit" and then the back of the shirt says "Home of the American Dream" and below that "#VivaDetroit". So, with the logo I'm looking for an accompanying font for that. Something that matches nicely.
It will also be used on a website and possibly as the logo for a video among other things. I think simple and professional, but exciting and bold and passionate! You could draw a comparison to a group of anti-government revolutionaries or something extreme. This is a grassroots campaign targeting millennials and hipsters and trendsetters.
While the concept is fairly intuitive, what design decisions could we make to give it to make it pop? To attract revolutionaries. Thanks for your time. Looking forward to working with you.
Feel free to play around with the Spanish exclamation mark i.e. ¡Viva Detroit! or ¡Viva! Detroit. In plain text I thought Viva! Detroit looked better but ¡¡¡Viva Detroit! or something makes sense if you can make it work.
