Give Me 10! The 10-minute solution to find balance and reach your goals
I am launching a website/blog, and I hope eventually a book, aimed at creative and ambitious mothers. I would like a logo and “identity toolkit” (font, color palette) that will be the first step to creating a brand that will inspire women to have fun, and be all they can be. The look will start on the website, carry through to the book, as well as other visual materials. Book jacket design experience encouraged.
Mothers, whose primary job is caring for the family (and often also have careers outside the home) but who still have their own hopes and dreams and goals that are usually pushed aside to get through the day-to-day essentials.
Give Me 10! Focuses on helping women keep those dreams alive and nurture them a little bit every day – learning to paint, taking time to read a good book, planning a trip to Europe, learning to play the piano, taking time for yoga.
Give Me 10! Provides advice and suggestions on how to take 10 minutes every day to take on those goals and achieve them slowly but surely.
You can get a feel for the site and the target audience at GiveMe10.info or GiveMe10blog.com. The logo would replace the portion of the screen that now has nature photos. Once I have a logo, I will probably create an intro page (the first screen of the site) that would have just a few words and almost all logo to establish the mood of the site.
The look I’m going for is fun, accessible, light, achievable and collegial. I’m trying to convey that anyone can do this, and that we’re all in this (motherhood thing) together.\
NEW NOTE: My "colleagues" in the field are "mommy bloggers" whose look is somewhat cute and girly. Some examples include busymom.net, hipasiwannabe.com, and resourcefulmommy.com. I am looking to capture this type of look. I picture a logo featuring a caricature of a mom doing a variety of different goals -- in one she may be doing yoga, playing tennis, painting, skydiving. The caricature should like like "any mom" but cute and together. The words "Give Me 10!" are secondary to the pictures and can be small.
As said above, I'd like a logo, font, color palette that will become identifiable with the site. The logo will first appear on the website but I hope to carry it through to the book and other visual materials.
