We started with a mostly general idea of what we wanted in a new design, and Greg was able to help provide us with a more specific vision moving forward.
How bs h started their app design journey
What industry do you think your business is most related to?
Bar & Nightclub
Our app is a concierge service which - through a personalized chat message system - advises its users where the best places to dine and drink can be found.
What do you have in mind for the style and theme of the app?
We want a chic, clean, simple and stylish design. Our logo colors are black, green and white and we would like for those colors to be a theme throughout the app.
We want to see designs for 3 of our app's 8 primary screens. Based on those, we will pick a winner who gets to design the rest of the app.
Please refer to screen 1 on the attached file "sketch1.jpg". This is the start screen where users are asked to either login or sign up. It should have the logo, four dots that represent a tutorial which the user can flip through to learn exactly what the app does, a username and password field, and a sign up button for new users.
The second design we want is for the app's main screen. Please refer to screen 5 on the attached file "sketch2.jpg". Here the user is asked to choose whether they want advise on finding a restaurant or a bar/nightclub. It should have a standard "dining" icon for those who choose restaurant, and a "cocktail glass" icon for those who want to enquire about bars and nightclubs. In the bottom bar/line there should be 3 icons. The left icon should be a "mail" sort of icon. This represents the user's in-app mailbox. The centre icon should be a split image of the "dining" and "cocktails glass" icon and should be slightly bigger than the other two bottom icons. The right icon should represent the user's profile/settings option.
Our final design request is our "chat" window. Please refer to screen 6 on the attached file "sketch2.jpg". After pressing either the dining or drinking option on the previous screen, a direct, personal chat with one of our concierges opens in the app. This works more or less like WhatsApp. The user will see a picture/profile photo of the concierge he or she is chatting with and there will be an exchange of messages in order to guide the user to a venue we believe he or she will appreciate.
