watdoc? got their new app design by running a design contest:
Medical iPhone app design required
Check out watdoc?'s App design contest…
Medical & Pharmaceutical
Purpose: The watdoc? app guides users to the most relevant health professional based on answers to a series of questions relating to their problem. Who is it for: People who have a health problem and need to determine which type of health professional to see (i.e. GP, Physiotherapist, Sports Doctor). Notes: - This app is intended for Australia only. - Potential for further work with the winner for remaining screens. Based on our current scope, this will be around 3 - 4 additional screens
- We would like to keep the design clean, bold and flat, the following website has some great looking ones that we particularly like: http://designmodo.com/iphone-app-websites/ - Since we are looking to give medical guidance it needs to have a level of professionalism to it. - Our main competitors will be WebMD and iTriage who offer a similar app (we have obviously identified a point of difference with our app though!). In terms of graphic design, we will be looking for submissions that look AT LEAST as good as and ideally looks a lot better than the design that these apps have. - Please refer to the iOS7 HIG (Human Interface Guide) for a good reference to iOS App best design practices: http://www.slideshare.net/evgenybel…g-22784587 - Relating to the image required for the Body Selection Screen: We really like the style of the body image used on the app 'iTriage' (look at the Symptoms functionality on the app) however if you have other ideas we will definitely be keen to hear them! - Other than that, we will be keeping a fairly open mind as to what you guys are able to come up with!
Screen 1: Home screen The Home screen is the first screen that users will see when the app starts. From the home screen, users can select one of 3 options: (1) Start e.g. start the process of finding out what health professional to see, (2) Tips e.g. view our top health related tips that will help them save money and time with their visit (3) About e.g. view Terms & conditions (very important) and other information about the app. Screen 2: Body Selection screen The Body Selection screen comes after selecting 'Start' from the Home screen. This screen is where users identify which area of the body their problem is associated with. This selection process will be in the form of selecting one of the following areas on a body image: (1) Head (2) Neck (3) Arms (4) Hand (5) Upper body (6) Lower body (7) Legs (8) Feet - The main aspect of this screen is the image of the body. - There should also be an option to rotate the body so that the user can select body areas from the back. - There also needs to be an option to go back to the Home screen. - Title of the screen can be "Select Body Area" Screen 3: Question screen Once the body area has been identified then the user will be asked a series of questions through the Question screen. This screen consists of: (1) The question e.g. How severe is your pain? (2) Answer options e.g. Mild, Moderate, Severe, None of the Above (3) Question progress indicator e.g. 7 of 8 - Each question will have between 2 and 8 answer options for the user to select. - Once users select the answer, there should be a 'Next' button to allow them to move onto the next question to answer. - There also needs to be a 'Previous' button to go back to the previous question.
What to avoid
Please avoid designs that are dark and contain gloss, shine, and seuomorphism e.g. must be kept in line with the IOS7 HIG.
