J & J got their new app design by running a design contest:
SUPER SIMPLE APP (OPUS Classical Mood Player)
Check out J & J's App design contest…
Entertainment & The Arts
This is an easy one: This application is meant to function as the most easy-to-use app ever. Press an icon, and corresponding music (classical) plays.Share, buy or "like" the music. Enjoy!

Icons: Good looking mood icons. Six of them, filling up the entire screen. Colourful Simplistic Preferable symbols rather than just "faces" ....however Feel free to mix between personified icons and symbolic icons depending on what is more fitting. Example "groovy" could be person dancing while "sleepy" would work nicely with a bed, moon and stars (with no person in it).One color per mood/icon is an idea we'd like to explore. Materials/background:Modern looking, but it's music and it's classical, so hey - if you can mix it up a bit, that would be cool too. Tips: Use classical cd cover icons from Google images to illustrate the player screen.

What to avoid
Don't be too serious - this app should be fun, and make the user smile at the icons, yet think that it all looks very stylish. Please avoid any kind of "smiley"-related icons and cartoon styles Also, avoid too small icon texts - the app will be used by older people too.
Every design category has flexible pricing for all budgets. App design starts at £469.
