For my new self-help book on test stress, I need an illustrator for chapter headings and small "icons".
The winner of this contest will be awarded $400 to complete 9 chapter heading illustrations and 5 "icon" illustrations (icons are described below).
To win the contest you have to supply a sample illustration for one of the chapters and one sample icon (see description below)
I HATE TESTS!
This book is written for students -- high school, college, graduate school and other adults taking tests.
• Sample illustration should be for chapter titled "How To Remain Calm". It should show an anxious test-taker in the midst of taking a test
Illustration should be in the style of a New Yorker cartoon: easily "readable" and telling a story. No words, just an image the reader can quickly identify with.
One sample icon is also required. Icons are small illustrations that appear throughout the book in sidebars, to highlight important information. Examples: "Tip" "Reminder" "Do's and Don'ts" etc.). For the contest please design an icon for "Don't Forget!"
* Empathy--- reader should immediately identify with character(s) in illustration • Witty • Appeal to broad age range (high school on up-- pitched to the college market)
Anything wild, silly or demeaning.
