symmetric got their new other graphic design by running a design contest:
Improve Map / Legend Color Scheme on Home Page
Check out symmetric's Other Graphic Design contest…
The map on the home page of www.OneBillionBulbs.com attempts to track progress against a goal. The colors vary from white (0% of goal achieved) to green (100% of goal achieved). We'd like to improve the color scheme so that the transitions are more natural and visually pleasing.
What's your vision?
Accepted File Formats: GIF/JPG The map on the home page of OneBillionBulbs.com attempts to track progress against a goal. The colors vary from white (0% of goal achieved) to green (100% of goal achieved). We'd like to improve the color scheme so that the transitions are more natural and visually pleasing. Please note the following requirements: - The begininng color (0%) should be white or some other neutral color. - The ending color (100%) should still be green (although it would be fine for you to suggest a different shade of green). Please use your design expertise to suggest the intermediate colors. If you think all intermediate colors should be shades of green, then suggest that. If you think other intermediate colors make sense, that's fine too....as long as we start with some shade of white and end with green. Note that we are not looking to change the overall color scheme of the site at this time. Whatever color scheme you propose should complement the existing color scheme of OneBillionBulbs.com When submitting your entry, please apply your color scheme to both the legend and the map. If you can do that and place it within a screenshot of the homepage (so that we can see your changes in context), that would be better yet. We'll let this contest run for 7 days. However, we might end it early if we see something we like (in fact, we'd love to make a decision within the next day or two). Deliverables: - GIF, JPG - List of HTML color codes used for each transition
