I am David Roberts, president of Showstopper, Inc. and for the past 30 years we have conducted 40 dance competitions each year all over the country for young dancers in the United States and Canada. Every year we like to change the graphic design of our stage "set" which is made of large freestanding fiberglass pieces that when put together stand 40 feet wide and go from 9 feet to13 feet tall to create the backdrop for our stage. In the center is a lit Showstopper sign in a star. You can look at the design template I'm sending with this and also our website http://www.showstopperonline.com to get a better idea of what I'm talking about. If you go to the video section of our website it shows the set clearly with the design we used last year on our stage.
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
Our audience is basically our contestants which are mainly young females aged 8 yrs to 18 yrs old. They are very into fashion, Hanna Montana, "So you think you can Dance" TV Show, Taylor Swift and the like. Of course watching the events also are dance teachers and the families of the dancers. So want want a youthful, hip, fresh, "today" look.
We want you to use all your creative ideas to create a new graphic design for our stage set to give us a fresh new look. "Disney-like" can be a good look as well as "grunge" and hip. The best "base" color to use would be blue because it looks so good on camera, but of course other colors, designs, etc. need to be used, like pinks, golds, purples and others. You can use the set template for your design and then we will enlarge the design and then paint it on our sets.
