Tasmin.C got their new other design by running a design contest:
Modern Desktop Automation App
Check out Tasmin.C's Other design contest…
The TestSweets desktop app will be an application where testers can run their tests (written in xml, or scripted within the tool) and see the results of it within the UI. This tool is primarily developed to speed up development cycles within FilledStacks and ensure that we maintain a very high standard of quality with releases without having to put in a countless number of hours to test every release on every device on every platform in every language. The tool will be focused on making it easier for a tester to create automation tasks and not focused on developers.
What's your vision?
For the first version of the application, this is what we would like. - Users should be able to login or sign up for an account with TestSweets. - The user should be able to select the APK they want to test - The user should be able to select the xml files that contains all of the tests - The user should be able to select the device to run the application on - The user should be able to run the tests and see the log output of the software (starting up, connecting to device, installing apk, etc. The actual log output) - The user should see all their tests listed with the proper test structure (Test Suites, inside the test suites there are multiple tests, each test has multiple steps). This should be expandable by a drop down arrow or something of that sort. - When a test passes it will be outlined by green indicating success, when it’s running it will be outlined by yellow and when the test fails it will be outlined by red. - When the user clicks on a failing test they should see the logs for that test only and then see which step failed. - When a user clicks on the failing step they should see the log output of that specific commands failure (if it has any) I want the UI to look and feel like a modern IDE (Integrated Development Environment) like Visual Code. It doesn’t have to be as dry and I would like a little more modern feel to promote the visual appeal of the application.
The main functionalities of this app that should be a center point of the designs are the following: User should know to select an apk file and a test script file (indicate when selected). User should know where to run the app, user should know when tests fail. A user should EASILY be able to determine why a test failed
