We are looking to create a one-page “Story Sheet” template brochure/flyer (one-sided with no back) that will act as a summation representation for each specific product that we sell. This template will allow us to plug in different information for each product in our portfolio. We are hoping this story sheet will act as our leading branding and marketing tool and we would like the sheet to represent the same characteristics and personality of our logo and company as described below.
I would like a consistent template that is used among all of our products, yet the specific information and differences among each product would be represented through different boxes, shapes, or areas that describe the unique characteristics of each specific brand/product.
We would like all of our branding materials to represent a unique and chic approach to the distribution business. Most brand recognition in the industry is very vanilla/plain or seem to come off of a clipart that includes a vineyard or vine.
Our goal is to position our branding as stylish, distinctive, youthful (but not playful), elegant, chic, and a little different. We prefer not to have too complex or confusing of a sheet, too many colors, or too hard to read.
It would great to include the mountain sketch/outline from our logo on this sheet. Perhaps use as a structure for the individual boxes or outline of the sheet.
Below are my ideas to include within each story sheet. Not every sheet will include each detail, though. As such, I am hoping to have one page with different areas, boxes, etc. and I can fill in the title/name of brand, picture of the bottle and details of the product. I am hoping to create a one page template that is creative, elegant, colorful, and has the boxes/circles/or whatever else your artistic abilities feel that covers the below aspects. We are hoping to have some flexibility with the overall template, but certainly need help with the format and feel of the page. We would like to edit the document using some Microsoft product (publisher, powerpoint, word) or some other similar editing platform, Adobe, etc, that is inexpensive or free if we currently do not otherwise carry on our computer.
1) Picture of the product (bottle shot)2) Product costs and any available deals3) Product Summary4) Product Features5) Winemaker’s/Distiller Notes6) Gleaming Characteristics7) Wine Rating or Awards8) Cocktail Recipes
We will need this sheet to be completely editable and will plan on making a booklet that will include the story sheets for all of our products. We would like the sheet to be a standard 8.5" x 11", but would also welcome a different size...we would, however, request that the size is also somewhat standard so printing cost are not too expensive. Other sizes could include 5.5" x 8.5 or 6" x 9".
Attached is a very rough idea of what we are looking for in terms of a one-page feel. Please use the attached document as a guide for the overall feel…I put this together in 10 minutes to illustrate the idea of having boxes, areas, and context to describe different things about the product. Please do not use this page as a reference for the artistic feel that we are looking for, though. I created this attachment to portray the structure of illustrating different aspects of each product; my desire is to have each sheet include different information about my different products that would help sell each product.
The sheet will need have a clean look, cannot be too crowded with information, easily readable, and highlight important characteristics of the product.
We are flexible on the colors used for this sheet...our main logo colors are gray and blue, but we are open to more colors in order to highlight each product characteristic.
No clip art or pictures depicting wine, spirits, bottles, etc. The only pictures that are to be used will be the label, bottle, or logo of that specific product that is being represented on a particular sheet.
SEE ATTACHED DOCUMENT AS A GUIDE FOR DIFFERENT ASPECTS AND CHARACTERISTICS THAT WOULD BE INCLUDED IN THESE SHEETS. THE ATTACHMENT IS BY NO MEANS ANY REPRESENTATION OF THE FEEL OR LOOK THAT WE WOULD LIKE. AS SUCH, PLEASE DO NOT USE A GUIDE FOR THE OVERALL DESIGN...PLEASE JUST USE AS THE IDEA FOR HAVING DIFFERENT AREAS OF INFORMATION.
Thank you to all of the designers for your submissions. Unfortunately, I have not found a design that quite hits the mark that we are looking for. We will be extending the contest, so hopefully you are able to take my comments and make some revisions. Here are some general comments about what we are looking for.
Many of the submissions are very similar. While very elegant and informative, we feel that the style and approach is too limited. We are really looking for a designer to bring a different and creative flair to the design. Many of the submissions are very similar to what a winery would release in terms of the information on the product. As such, I will already have those marketing tools at my disposal and it does not make too much sense to just recreate those sheets. That is why I am looking for a supplemental "story sheet" that really markets the products differently.
I am hoping to create a product line booklet that will include sheets for each of my products. I would like these sheets to have a youthful and creative style. While I would like to keep the elegance in mind, these sheets need to really "pop" and tell the story behind these products. I will include information about the product, but also other different aspects such as: pairing recipes, customer quotes about the product, highlighting certain characteristics, and other different ideas to market the product.
We feel that #9 and #34 are the closest to exemplifying these traits and style. We would, however, like to challenge all designers, whether new or revised, to create something original and something that could be marketing differently. Our goal is for something youthful and creative, something marketable, and something that will be unique.
Thank you all for your hard work on this and please do not hesitate to contact me in regards to questions, thoughts, or help in defining our needs.
