We are creating a custom board game which we will have made for friends and family.
What inspires you and how do you envision the design for your business?
We are looking to design a poster that could be used as a game board and box cover for a ski resort board game. The idea of the game is for the players to name various features on the map so the map would need to show 2 chairlifts, 2 advanced ski runs, 2 intermediate ski runs, 2 beginning ski runs, one mountain top restaurant, one mid mountain bar, and at the bottom of the mountain a retail village with a wine bar called CONTINENTAL DIVIDE WINERY (we own this winery so we want it shown on the map). The drawing would ideally be very loosely based on the layout of Breckenridge Ski Area in Colorado, but would only show a very small portion of the overall trial map (Breckenridge is a huge ski area with dozens of chairlifts and more than 100 ski runs). The overall look and feel we would want would be similar to the Breckenridge-Main-Street_art file attached hereto with the CONTINENTAL DIVIDE WINERY being featured in a small village of shops shown at the bottom of the mountain (not as prominent as shown in the example), and then all the rest of the resort features above it. The idea of the game is for the players to name the various features, so there would be a box with a blank for the names of all the features (similar to the way I have shown the resort name sign on the attached drawing entitled LAYOUT. However, since the goal of the game is to name the ski lifts, ski runs, restaurant, bar and ski resort, those elements would need to pop out so it was obvious what the players were naming. Thus the mountain should be MUCH similar than the actual Breckenridge trial map (maybe more like the attached file SIMPLE MAP. The attached file MAIN STEET STATION 2 shows the building where our winery is located.
While the name CONTINENTAL DIVIDE WINERY show show in the drawing in the village at the bottom of the ski resort map, the names for all the ski runs, chair lifts, and the restaurant and bar should be a blank box (since the purpose of the game is for people to think up creative names for those elements). The final part of the project is to create a mini version of the art that could be used as the graphic for the back of game cards.
