I want this book to stand out and be clear. We want to make this book a bestseller. It seems like most bestselling books have a pretty simple design.
I don't necessarily want to say it HAS to be a simple design, but I do want to make sure that it's not cluttered or unclear. I want people to easily see and read the title & subtitle. It should make them want to pick it up and open it (of course!).
I'm looking for a designer who will polish it up after the contest with the finalized testimonials, ISBN bar code, etc.
This book is about opening people's eyes to the deceptions that are played on them by bankers, Wall Street stock brokerages, the media and press, and the government. It's also also about a 5 step program to become free.
As for imagery, I don't want imagery about getting filthy rich, being super wealthy. If there is imagery, I'd like it to be well-aligned with the title.
Keep in mind, there doesn't HAVE to be imagery. Some great books have titles that are just a nice arrangement of text in a well-laid-out manner of fonts, sizes and colors.
Again, I'm not saying that it must be text only, but I'm just saying I want it to be a clean design.
I will sell it on Amazon.com as well, so it would be best if the book cover also looked decent at thumbnail size.
If you have any questions, please ask.
Colors: I give you full artistic freedom.
On top of the prize, if your design is successful then you'll receive acknowledgment in the book, as well as copies of the final product. Possibly even further work in designing a web site to match the theme and branding of the book.
Good luck!
Jeff
p.s. ******* PLEASE read all my comments on the contest page. I've provided a lot of feedback and guidance to give more DOs and DON'Ts.
