40 Days for Life
40 Days for Life is a Christian pro-life advocacy campaign that works to save lives by raising community awareness and helping mothers in crisis pregnancy choose life.
40 Days for Life began as a local campaign in Texas in 2004 and has since spread to 307 cities across all 50 American states and seven other countries, mobilizing over 350,000 people and saving the lives of more than 2,100 babies.
We focus on providing compassion and support to mothers and their babies, and take a supportive, hope-filled, affirming approach to a topic that is frequently viewed as controversial and confrontational.

This flyer template will primarily target a faith-based (Christian) audience, and will be posted in thousands of churches across America and worldwide -- likely seen in churches more than any other location.
There are many ages of people involved in our efforts (from young adults to elderly), so we usually try to make our materials applicable across a wide range of ages.
Our audience has responded very well in the past to compelling photographic imagery enhanced by professional design elements.
Due to the fact that we work with people across many ethnic backgrounds, we would really like the flyer to either be multi-ethnic, or as ethnic-neutral as possible.
Ideally, the imagery should focus on mother and baby, and should be very modest (i.e. no breastfeeding pictures, no uncovered pregnant bellies, etc.)
Other possible imagery for the target audience could focus on prayer, and positive, peaceful advocacy.
We need an 8.5" x 11" flyer design TEMPLATE, that our local campaigns can download, insert their own written copy, and print out themselves. Therefore the design must look good in color or black and white via home/office printers, and will rarely be printed via offset press.
In the past we have used a vertical layout with a .5" margin around the edge of document so it would print in the widest range of printers.
The flyer needs strong visual imagery that is visible from a short distance, possibly including royalty-free photography of mother(s) and child(ren) but could also include images conveying prayer or standing up for what is right.
Design must include our 40 Days for Life logo (attached to this design brief in both horizontal and vertical layouts for various design options.)
Also design must include the dates of our upcoming campaign: September 22 - October 31.
There must also be white (or very light color) space to insert copy, roughly 200-300 words of text.
To get an idea of what we're looking for, I would suggest looking at the three previous flyer templates we have designed in-house (attached as Word docs.)
And here is an example of a great design that I like: http://www.stocklayouts.com/Templat…70701.aspx
I know a great designer can do better than we have done in the past, especially knowing that this design will be seen widely, and that we will be working on other design projects soon.
Final output should be in Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator format.
