How Rhwalken started their print or packaging design journey
Walken private event
We are hosting a party for our 13 year old twins bnai mitzvah at a new nightclub in Chicago. A bnai mitzvah is a coming of age event in the Jewish religion. There is a religious service usually followed by some kind of celebration. We are reformed and therefore are having the entire function at a club rather than a temple. Our twins are a lot of fun and love having a good time. They are true city kids and really enjoy checking out new places. This event will fit their personality. The night is about them and our guests having a good time. It is a catered event with a DJ from one of the top radio stations in Chicago hosting. Dancing, eating a having a good time!
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
This art work would be seen all over the party and would be seen and worn by all of the guests. The guests lists would be made up of kids as well as adults. The kids are a mature group of teens and quite savvy as far as design. It is a high fashion crowd and the venue is new and very sophisticated. The design should fit with that.
We are in need of a logo for the party. It needs to incorporate the two names of the children being honored (or initials). Their names are Owen and Paige. The date of the event can be used as well; April 23, 2011 (4-23-11. The date does not have to be used. We want a design that names are worked into, NOT a design of names. It should be something not that obvious when you look at it. It will be used everywhere; from printed on napkins, to put in lights and shining on dance floor to printed on some piece of clothing the guests will take home. We want the guests to wear the gift we give them, so therefore, the logo can not be childish. It has to be "cool" in the eyes of a teen. It also has to be apealing to both guys and girls. We need to be able to use it in black and white and in color, big and small. It needs to be done as a CMYK image in a PDF. It's very important we are able to use this on paper as well as clothing.
