How Casey Miles started their product label journey
What colors do you want to see in your design?
Other color requirements
Muted tones. Browns, dark oranges, gold, silver, etc...
Specialty die cutting is fine if it suits the purpose. Square labels work as well.
The name of the Bourbon is "California Bourbon Whiskey" Please include our logo somewhere on the front label. The logo is attached to this brief.
Other than that, use your imagination. I see labels that say things like "100% Fine American Whiskey" or "Old time Bourbon Whiskey". This is all regarded as fanciful text. There are no rules about what kinds of things to say about this Bourbon. feel free to give it a slogan (if it fits). "The Beast of Bourbon" or "The King of Bourbon" or whatever you think is catchy. You can also just do a bunch of filigree.
What industry do you think your business is most related to?
We are a craft distillery that makes and excellent Bourbon whiskey from grain to glass. This Bourbon is delicious in an Old Fashioned or served neat. We're looking for a historical luxury label to match our traditional American Bourbon process.
Description of the product target audience
This whiskey is targeting people who enjoy their booze as opposed to people who buy a plastic bottle of vodka for a cocktail with too many umbrellas (1 is too many). Our market is primarily ladies and gentlemen from 30 to 50 in Southern California who will spend a little more for quality.
Do a google search for "Old whiskey labels". Click on "images". That's what we're looking for.
We would like a front and back label for a 375mL "Hip Flask" design glass bottle. It has a black plastic screw-top.
Imagery on the front label. Closer to center but artistically off-set images are acceptable as well. It must look classy and luxurious. That's what's in the bottle.
Feel free to use foil inlay, various paper textures, and creative aging effects on the die-line to hit the mark.
What to avoid
We aren't going for modern minimalist designs. Avoid neon or bright colors.
