We produce incredible wine and our target audience is everyone that drinks wine.
What's your vision?
We are looking for our first label. So this will include our name/logo for the first time. This portion of the label will remain constant for future labels and different releases. Our brand is Finn Ella. 2 separate words, but pronounced as one…“finnella”. Despite it being our first release, I want it to seem as if we have been around a long time. I want the softness of the name counter balanced by the masculinity of the logo. I want it to be classic and elegant, clean and uncluttered. Something that will stand the test of time. The emotion and drive that makes us unique will be expressed by each individual wine. Our first release is the 2013 Vintage of FLEK. FLEK, stands for Finn, Laura, Ella, Kevin. A blend of Sangiovese and Merlot grapes, a classic Super Tuscan blend. And it all comes from the Sierra Foothills (aka the gold country). A place that has deep roots for our family, a place that changed the way I look at wine, and how I look at life. That's FLEK. That is the label we are looking to have created on this project. In year two (2014 Vintage), we plan to release our 2nd vintage of FLEK alongside our first release of "Yorty" which will come from Sonoma. We will also be releasing a 2014 Rose, as yet to be named. The gist of all this is that the Finn Ella brand is kind of a parent to very unique and special children. Finn Ella is a stoic, proud, staunch, committed, devoted, historic, classic and legendary stalwart of a brand. FLEK, Yorty, and any others that may come along are the expressive, emotional, personal, passionate, unique and individual children of Finn Ella... Each a brand unto itself. So FLEK, besides being an acronym will also represent a “fleck” of gold, like you would find while panning for gold… since this wine comes from the Sierra Foothills aka “gold country”. We want to avoid any reference to mining (No cartoonish bearded men pans and pick!)… the reference should be subtle. The label clean. Uncluttered and elegant. Timeless and Classic. Good Luck!
I do have a very specific label design in mind, layed out in the powerpoint doc attached. If you cannot view it, let me know and I will send a screen shot. Please consider this my "safety valve" default design. I do not want to limit or squash the creativity of minds greater than mine... just want to convey a vision. The other 3 images are just things I doodled and liked. Please feel free to follow your own path in creation. Here is a pinterest link to labels that impress us. As you can see, what we like can vary greatly. Just remember... clean, elegant classic. https://www.pinterest.com/ljstafford5/label-ideas/
