Food & Drink
We grow cherries, peaches, nectarines. We export cherries and peaches, mainly to Asia. We sell the rest of our fruit to large wholesalers in New Zealand who on sell to large supermarkets and independent retailers and food service operators.
What's your vision?
Our fruit is packed in to several different boxes, all varying in size. Last year through 99designs we had a wonderful logo designed for us, now we would like to promote this on our packaging as well as use the style of it to inspire unique and distinct packaging. This will enable us to continue to build our brand in the marketplace.
The focus of this contest is our export boxes - 2kg and 5kg cherry boxes and 2kg cherry box outer (6 x 2kg cherry boxes are packed into an outer); and our 3kg peach tray. Ideally, the same design should be able to be used on each of these boxes, despite the various dimensions. (See attached photos - the 2kg and 5kg cherry boxes currently have the same design). Please disregard the 10 and 12kg boxes in the attached file.....they will be considered at a later date. *consider how boxes are stacked on a pallet and therefore how potential customers see our boxes...the sides are as important as the top of the box! In the large wholesale markets, often the first time a customer sees our product is when it is still stacked on a pallet. **The suns rays in the logo are key to our message of "Capturing sunlight in an edible form for your delight" so they need to be part of the design and even provide the basis for the color of the packaging (even if its just the sides of the box in pattern form....something that when the boxes are stacked on a pallet a buyer even at a distance (walking through the market) will see and identify it as our product. **Fruit is often given as a gift in Asia and that is why we are looking for a distinct design with a premium feel. (NB New Zealand is seen as a clean and green source of fresh food). **We are selling fruit so the look of the packaging needs to be fresh, bright and tantalising! *please refer to our website www.mcintoshorchard.co.nz to understand better our business, what it means to us and why we emphasize the unique area where we grow our fruit (as seen on the cherry box lids).
