Description of the product
Our heatpack is an active heat product. The actual pack comes in a clear vacuum sealed polybag. By opening the bag the heat pack reacts with the air and will produce heat for at least 8 hours. To present the item in stores it will be put into a cardboard envelope with a hanger hole.
Description of the product target audience
The product will be used by people not only for warming reasons, it will be used as pain relief heat plaster as well. Therefore target group is everybody with pain issues usually looking for reliable products.
We need you to design the cardboard envelope. On the back side there will only be text as for ingredients, manual instructions and so on. On the front side there should be visible, what kind of product is inside and what it is used for on the first look. The clinical / medical look would be good but is not mandatory. The design should emphasize on the heat effect / wellness or ´feel good´ idea and maybe include a body scheme with points to attach the heat pack (neck, shoulder, lower back,legs) or more small graphics to express the function. The design should also express a reliable product, clear statements. Also it should emphasize the 8hours of usage. For the colours we do not have a special claim. Classical combination for expressing heat would be red-yellow colors, classical medical style would be white-red-blue - but we are open to suggestions. Please check the uploaded example file, that is the old design for the printed vacuum sealed polybag. The envelope design should not be the same, its only an example to know what is the main idea. *** Briefing UPDATE *** By matching with our customers we would like to give some updates regarding the intended layouts: - For pictograms that show how to use the heat pack should definitely show that the heat pack is patched on clothing. - Besides the pictograms we would also be interested in designs containing (stock) pictures similar tot he uploaded girl. Best would be that it also shows the heat pack patched on the clothing. - The colors red-orange seem to be very common, which no problem at all but I would like to emphasize that we are open for design ideas and especially ideas which focus on the wellness effect . So blue- whiote combinations or similar will be also very welcome. - Because oft relatively small feedback from designers until now we decided to make the competition a „blind“ one. If any questions or detailes feedback necessary feel free to contact me – I will answer a soften as possible.
What to avoid
Avoid all pictures that show pain and pain issues. Also avoid all typical red cross or similar items, as it is a copyright icon. Also avoid icons that are related to pharmacies, healthcare or similar. These icons are mostly copyright protected icons. Avoid stock imagery that do not provide a business use license with bigger quantities.
The envelope should be 200mm in height, 135mm in width. The flap to close the envelope should be by up to 85mm long. In the top middle there will be a cut out euro hanger hole measuring 35mm in width. At the moment there is no dye cut, it would be created according to the winner design. Therefore the dimenstions are not 100% set, its just the comparable size to make it useful and presentable in discount stores.
