kayHer got their new product packaging by running a design contest:
Design a simple and elegant box for our World Class Roses
Check out kayHer's Product packaging contest…
Description of the product
World Class Roses, individually wrapped, delivered to your door in a box. The roses are literally the best in the world and we're going to for high end, classy and elegant. These will be available via subscription so that the customer receives a box every week, or every 2 weeks or every month. They can also be purchased as a one-off as a gift for somebody.
Description of the product target audience
They will most likely be purchased as a gift for a woman aged between 30-60. They will be sold within the UK online. Most likely be purchased by female in their 30s with disposable income. The roses are not cheap and will retail at between £40 and £70 so we're aiming for mid-earning price bracket.
The logo should be on the outside of the box, no other information is required on the outside of the box. This item is only sold online and not in shops so doesn't need to be descriptive. Inside the box, on the inside of the lid, will be care instructions for the roses (care instructions are written in the design brief that I have uploaded). The box should be monochrome. We have a tag line 'Hand-Picked World Class Roses'. It would be nice to include this in the design, but not if it compromises the design. In the design brief, I have included photos of a similar product, we are aiming for a similar look, but it should not copy or resemble it too closely.
What to avoid
We are looking for classic, understated elegance, something that would be nice to receive as a gift. We don't want to see anything too fussy, complicated or old fashioned. No colours apart from tones of white, cream, black and grey. No use of stock imagery. No cartoons.
Please see the template that I have uploaded for dimensions.

kayHer collaborated with designers to refine their ideas
When design entries come in, you can rate them so designers know what you’re looking for in your logo design.
99designs has great collaboration tools so you can pinpoint and capture your ideas
And then… they selected a winner!
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
We think contests are a super fun way to get design.
