Firstly, we do not sell Baby products, and Baby is just a very old brand name signifying that our saffron is as pure as a new born baby ( the brand is worth over 30million USD now so we cannot change it for the Indian market. We sell one of the most expensive spices in the world "Saffron" and are pioneer's, market leaders enjoying a near monopoly in the Indian market. Irony is that our target audience is majorly middle class people of India who may not understand modern design and are from remote area's. Our brand is a heritage brand running since over 50 years and the brand name "Baby" is also old-fashioned. We are a single product company and specialize only in Saffron.
What's your vision?
We package our product in a plastic box which is further blister sealed and then a printed card is added to enable us to brand and also make the package look bigger. Saffron being a small item, the box looks too small and the customer will not see the worth until the packaging card is impressive and "crisp" We are celebrating 175 years of business establishment and 50 years of existance of Baby Brand this year. We would like that to be flaunted on our packaging. The back of the packaging card will have instructions for use, barcode, batch details our address etc. Basically the front branding needs to be very strong and the colors need to be right. PREMIUM look and feel. We are open to spending on packaging quality. Our new plastic box will be SQUARE shaped and the packaging card can be of ANY shape. Please note that rectangular shapes seem to look the best however you can be creative! We HAVE to blister pack so that cannot be changed. Remember, saffron is a premium product and 1g costs around 5 US $ so the customer needs to feel good while buying something so tiny for so much money.
Attached our few of our previous artwork's, you'll notice how its evolved but still not a super modern design which is how we would like to keep it, somewhere in the middle or you could go all classic. Attached yellow and blue is our old design existing from 2007-2011 and now the new one Orange and silver metallic printing is currently running from 2011- till date. We have to change packaging every 4 years as there are a lot of people who copy it and make lookalike's. Visit www.babysaffron.com to see more of our packaging.
