Food & Drink
OG® - Original African Ogogoro
Description of the product
OG® - Original African Ogogoro is a blend of gin named after the popular (though “illicit”) local Nigerian moonshine. To be launched in 2019, we are looking to create a unique experience for consumers both in taste and packaging by tapping into the cult status and popularity of the moonshine.
Description of the product target audience
OG is targeted at the adventurous drinker. Male 18 - 60, hardworking and appreciates a good deal (value for money). The drink will be of premium quality but priced for the medium-low end of the market.
We intend to launch OG starting with 200ml PET bottles shrink-wrapped with extremely attractive plastic sleeves. Our brief is on the design of the shrink-wrap sleeves. (please refer to the contest at https://99designs.com/product-label-design/contests/london-dry-gin-shrink-sleeve-design-557505 for an idea of what we want) We want designers to explore African/Nigerian motifs and patterns when coming up with the designs. Think folk art, graffiti etc in black background The registered name "OG" must be bold and centred on the front, while subline - "Original African Ogogoro" comes underneath (maybe in a ribbon device?). Designers can explore any font options that enhance the quality and beauty of the designs. Additional text at back (in no particular order): "This here is the spirit of the gods - revered by our ancestors" "Savour Ogogoro Responsibly" 200ml 40%ABV Ingredients: Ethanol, Flavour, De-ionised Water. Blended and packaged by XXX Distillers for Darkforest Ltd. NAFDAC Reg No. 999-999 18+ Only Dummy barcode
What to avoid
Designers should avoid the temptation to use cliched images of Africa/Nigeria in their designs. Fonts should be simple, bold and legible.
Shrink sleeve to fit 200ml PET bottle. Designers can explore unique bottle shapes.
