Mex 1 Coastal Cantina
Bottled Margarita Mix
Description of the product
We are rolling out a retail margarita mix for our restaurant. It will be on a 950ml straight glass bottle that will have our logo as well as instructions on how to make the Margarita. We will eventually be rolling out two other mixes (one called the Hydrator and another that is a seasonal margarita mix) with all the same vibe and feel to them. This will be sold from our restaurant only as of now, so it doesn't need to have nutritional label, UPC codes, etc. It can look very clean and simple. Key information will be our label, the how to make it, an expiration date and a very simple ingredients list. Possibly a quick quote on it as well. The expiration date and also the seasonal flavor will need to allow a sharpie to write on it, since we will be making these in house.
Description of the product target audience
Our target audience is 25-45 year olds. We trend about 75% women followers. We are definitely a coastal vibe here in Charleston, SC but have a Southern California vibe to us. Our user likes to drink margaritas, but wants to keep things simple, Tequila and our mix. Our clientele comes to us at least once a week if not more. We are a regulars type of place, so people are familiar with our brand.
We are looking for a Margarita Mix label for our restaurant. It must have our logo, a simple ingredients list, a small section detailing how to make the margarita (which I will put below) and a quick little quote below. We have a brand book which I will attach. We like the topographical map look as well as leaves and flowers. Our look is a mix of Southern California, Baja California/Van Life and Retro Hawaiian. We can also go down the sugar skull route at times too, but feel this would be a lighter look to it. Our brand guidelines have fonts, colors, filters, etc but feel free to explore different fonts, colors, etc as long as it fits the vibe of what we put forth. We like fonts that are a bit roughed up. Must have information below Mex 1 Margarita Mix- This would be the name of the product Ingredients- A blend of fresh squeezed Lime Juice, Lemon Juice, Orange Juice and Simple Syrup. How to Make a Mex 1 Margarita- (This section can be slightly tweaked to fit the space better if need be. This part can take up a good bit of the design, so it can either be on the back of the label or possibly even omitted completely. We will have a QR code scanner that will take people to how to make the margarita as well. Instructions are nice though for people using the product.) *First add 1.5 oz of 100% Agave Tequila to shaker tin *Next add 4 oz of our Mex 1 Margarita Mix *Add ice to the shaker tin and shake for 10-15 seconds *Pour into a rocks glass with a 1/2 salted rim and enjoy! Keep this product refrigerated until ___/____ -Something along these lines to allow us to sharpie in an expiration date. Aloha Amigos is the tag line that will go on all the bottles. We use a cool scripted font for this. We would also like to add a QR code to scan to take you to a Youtube video to show you how to make the margarita. This can be simple and on the bottom corner. It would have instructions saying open camera and scan to see how to make a Margarita or something along those lines.
What to avoid
No stock imagery and likely no pictures at all. Definitely no clip art look or vibe to it. Our vibe is very authentic, so the mix needs to come across that way. Check out our instagram and our website for more inspiration. We are also big fans of and work regularly with @badwaycreative, @seculasurf, @seakemp to name a few. We love all forms of surf art as well. I am attaching our logo, our brand guidelines and some other art that we have done in the past. Arguably my favorite is the Aloha Amigos design we had done.
The bottle size we are looking to use is about 3.5" in diameter and about 11.5" tall. Here is a link to a bottle we are looking to use. If it is not this bottle, it will be very close to this look and feel. https://www.berlinpackaging.com/90202-950-ml-clear-liquor-spirit-glass-bottles-black-phenolic-cap/
