The name of the technology investment company, Yubari, is inspired by a character from the movie "Kill Bill", Gogo Yubari, who is known for her deadly mace. The company wanted a logo that gives reference to this.

Since Gogo Yubari is a nice looking girl with a deadly hunger for murder, I made this "nice" looking logo with a deadly Japanese samurai feel, something that could be used to introduce the name of a villain in a film, reminiscent of Gogo Yubari's character.

Instead of a detailed mace, I opted for a subtle mace icon design to give the logo a more serious investment company vibe. Along with a Japanese-inspired font for the wordmark, this just give enough hints to the origin of the name, avoiding too much reference that it would be associated with an anime company rather than an investment firm. Just the perfect balance of elegance and character to introduce the company to the business world.
