A kitchen-table out and bottom-up solution to climate change
A kitchen-table out and bottom-up solution to climate change. A nonprofit organization focused on: Create 30 million new jobs. Save every American money: $1,000 a year for every household. Solve the climate crisis with technology we have today. Specific goals ● Translation of technical and economic insights into concrete policy recommendations for federal, state, and local policy-makers. Initial focus will be on (1) federal role in creating a long-term, low-interest rate loan, similar to federal role in mortgage financing; and (2) state and local policies that drive up permitting, installation and labor costs for solar in U.S. relative to other countries such as Australia and (3) establishing grid neutrality - everyone who adds grid infrastructure and services should be compensated for them, from the owner of an electric vehicle to an electric utility. ● Increased awareness and support for these ideas by policy-makers at federal and state level. ● Build a coalition of companies and high-profile industrialists willing to back and execute the plan – similar to the “dollar a year” business executives who were critical to winning World War 2.
Avoid turbines and solar panels. Ideas we've had internally: 1. Neon sign theme. 2. Victory posters from WW2 that convey optimism and a rally-cry for fixing climate at home. 3. Climate Warming Stripes (red, white, and blue) 4. Sankey diagram of the US Energy that the climate solutions are born from We are welcome to new ideas too.
