The site design must accommodate a logo that has not yet gained final approval, but which will resemble the attached image. It is roughly square in composition.
The site design must include an area of sufficient size and aspect ratio to accommodate typical video players, as the diocese will be featuring various videos that will be hosted on those (and possibly other) services.
We want a zone for a "marquee" image which we'll rotate randomly from a pool of proprietary images.
We are looking to move away from the current design found here: http://pitanglican.org, and to a more open, airy feel, but the site design must retain the look and feel of a Christian church community. "Corporate" is OK, but "slick" is not.
The diocese is a diverse community in terms of architecture, the formality of worshipers' dress, and worship style. Therefore, please avoid any overall design or design elements that might "pigeonhole" the diocese as uniformly charismatic, uniformly Anglo-Catholic, etc. The diocese includes informal parishes where people attend church in jeans and worship with the music of praise bands, and it includes very formal parishes that worship in ornate Gothic cathedrals with incense and organ music, and everything in between. Our goal is to make them all feel at home at the site no matter what their style of worship or approach to "doing church."
