How stephen VWW started their web page design journey
Who are you known as?
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
We provide a website and IPAD app to allow companies to use our information to conduct "Toolbox Talks".
A Toolbox Talk is an informal group discussion that focuses on a particular SAFETY issue. These toolbox talks can be used to promote your companies safety culture. Toolbox talks are also intended to facilitate workplace health and safety discussions on the job site.
The talks are usually done by tradesmen to promote safety in the workplace or worksite.
The iPad app screens will have note points on them, so the design should be more border oriented.
We don't really like just one background colour. A blend would be better.
What industry do you think your business is most related to?
What do you have in mind for the style and theme of the web page?
The website and iPad app with be themed around workplace safety, predominately construction sites and tradesman related. Some images with groups of people with safety vests, hi vis clothing, hard hats, safety gloves, goggles. Colours that make people at ease are preferred. I don't want a massive amount of images, and don't want it to cringey. No borders of safety tape !
The people who will be using and seeing the app and website are going to be tradespeople and construction people who have minimal experience with computers.
I need a "home page" which will be for introducing our site and a description of what we do. This will be the homepage for the website and the iPad app.
The second page will be a "template for the information for each toolbox talk" the page will mostly be content so this page is more of a frame.
What to avoid
Not red, orange or any "hard" and non safety Colours. No cartoons. No single pictures of tools. No pictures of one person with a safety hat and a clipboard ! No pictures of one person in a safety vest giving a speech.
